Erfurt is an historic city with a population of 200.000, capital of the Thuringia state in Central Germany. The climate in June is on the overall dry and warm, with temperatures usually ranging from 10°C/50°F to 21°C/70°F.
How to get there
The best option is to fly to either Frankfurt (the closest) or Munich and take a train from there.
The Erfurt-Weimar airport is poorly connected and is used only for charter and low-cost flights to summer holiday locations in Europe and the Middle-East.
Frankfurt Airport Train to Erfurt is about 2 hours and a half, it may require changing in Frankfurt Central but there are also a few direct trains. The fare is about $50 as of July 2018.
Munich Airport to Erfurt is about 3 ½ hours and it requires a change in Munich Main (no direct trains). It is also more expensive (around $100 as of July 2018)

Erfurt Central Train Station is downtown, a 15 minutes walk from the Predigerkirche. In any case, here is a link to Erfurt public transport with a route planner. It is in German but Google offers to translate it and the result is quite readable:
Both Airbnb.com and Booking.com offer a wide choice of hotel, mini-apartment or B&B accommodation within walking distance from Predigerkirche.
